Abbas Al Jawnah Mobile App
A native Kotlin Android app for archiving and streaming thousands of Islamic lectures.
01 Overview
A Kotlin Native Android app archiving thousands of lectures, fatwas, and sermons by Sheikh Abbas Al Jaunah in a structured manner. Features an integrated audio streaming engine and full sermon transcripts to support Islamic studies.
02 Problem
Students of knowledge and the community often faced difficulties accessing Sheikh Abbas Al Jaunah's lectures and fatwas due to unstructured file distribution across various platforms. Manual searching was time-consuming, and standard audio players lacked specialized learning tools — such as quick-skip navigation for note-taking and full sermon transcript reading.
03 Solution & Approach
NamQool Studio developed a high-performance native Android application using Kotlin and MVVM architecture with a folder-based archiving system. We integrated a specialized, shoutiyah-optimized audio player featuring playback speed controls and a 5-second skip function for seamless note-taking. For daily content delivery, the app connects to a backend API synchronizing ongoing lectures alongside a direct consultation module.
